Serious coverage of today's health service and public health issues

Should fundholding survive?

Dear healthmatters — Thank you for such a clearly written and uncompromising editorial on the subject of fundholding in the last issue.

I am sure that, like myself, many people must find the whole area of fundholding, commissioning, total purchasing etc., very confusuing. Unless you are a policy wonk or a full-time academic it is difficult to keep up with what all the different alternatives mean and which is better. (Perhaps that is all part of the strategy: confuse the public!)

Your coverage is very valuable — so keep it up!
