Can professionals promote democratic action?

Dear healthmatters — I am writing to complain about the article by David Seedhouse in your last issue. The profession of health promotion does not get much coverage in your magazine and I was very disappointed to see that when there is an article is it confusing and inaccurate.

David Seedhouse may have some important points to make, but they are lost in his confusing rhetoric. He clearly does not understand the difference between the Specialist Health Promotion Services and those with a health promotion role.

I would suggest that next time he decides to write an article about the profession of health promotion, he asks a Health Promotion Specialist first.
