NHS 70: “The fourth industrial revolution is gathering pace, so the NHS must be a part of that and embrace the technology on hand” Stephen Bourke, co-founder of healthtech Echo

Stephen Bourke, co-founder at medication management app Echo said: “As the NHS turns 70, there is more recognition than ever that it is an institution we need to protect – but it does need to evolve. The fourth industrial revolution is gathering pace, so the NHS must be a part of that and embrace the technology on hand. From silicon valley innovations supporting the repeat prescription system to applying space technology to medical kit, it can all have a place alongside the tried and tested traditional methods. Automation certainly isn’t the only answer – and the £20bn injection of funds is a welcome boost – but it’s one that can help ensure the system lasts the next 70 years and beyond.”
